The Bellevue wrestling program saw two major achievements last Friday in Guttenberg.
Hunter Clasen went 5-0 at 170 pounds to become the fourth Comet to reach 100 career victories, while Bellevue went 4-1 to tale the title at the Clayton Ridge Duals championship — its first-ever team tournament championship.
Clasen joins Mason Lyons, Joe Kilburg and Tracy Watts as the only Bellevue wrestlers to reach the 100th victory mark, and just the second to do so since the program was resurrected three years ago.
Clasen won his first four matches by forfeit to reach the 100 mark, then won by fall in the final round to reach 101. Lyons owns the Bellevue career victory record with 133 wins.
Bellevue and Cascade both finished the tournament 4-1, but the Comets beat the Cougars, 42-39 to claim the title.
Harrison Haynes went 5-0 for Bellevue, which defeated Clayton Ridge (48-17), Central Elkader (54-12) and Edgewood-Colesburg (48-36).
