At the Class 1A district qualifying track meet held at Central City, Marquette's 4x 800 relay team qualified for the state meet in Des Moines. Team members include Allison Kettmann, Kaylee Koos, Holly Beauchamp & Halle Kilburg. Alternates are Hannah Litterer & Emma Callaghan

Marquette junior Halle Kilburg qualified in a 1A district for the 800 mete rrun & the 3000 7 1500 meters. Kilburg is seeded 20th in the 800 meters and 15th in the 3000 meters.

MARQUETTE STUDENTS NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-STATE: Macey Kremer (right) was named to the 2019 Soccer Academic All- State Team and Sunny North was named  to the 2019 Softball Academic All-State Team, both by the Iowa Girls High School Coaches Association.

After setting a school record recently in the discus, BHS sophomore Shayla Oster qualified for the Drake Relays and earned a 14th place finish there.

The Bellevue Knights of Columbus Council #1354 sponsored three local youngsters who participated in the State Free Throw Competition in Des Moines this past weekend.

In last week’s Tri-Rivers Conference Indoor Track meet results, Marquette’s Allison Kettmann, who took fifth place in the 800 meter run, was accidentally omitted from the story. Kettmann ran the 800 meter in a time of 256.8. We apologize for the error.

   It was a stellar season for the Marquette Catholic girls basketball team, as the team played twice last week in the Girls State Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

The Iowa Bankers Association Student Athlete Award was presented by Bellevue State Bank’s Tim Daugherty to Macey Kremer of Marquette Catholic. The award and $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one student in each class, and Kremer was the recipient for Class 1A.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds presented the Class 1A All-Tournament Team member honors, which included Tori Michel of Marquette Catholic (left), following the conclusion of the Class 1A Championship game Saturday night.

Teona Richman and Jeb Schwager were named Academic All-District by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.   Macey Kremer was named Academic All-State by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

The Bellevue Marquette Girls Basketball team won the Class 1A Semi Quarterfinal game at the State Basketball Tournament Wednesday afternoon, defeating Clarksville handily by a score of 62-49.

 Zach Roeder Bellevue’s 120 lb state qualified wrestler was knocked  out of the  2019 State Wrestling Tournament after two matches.  Roeder lost his first match by fall and in the consolation round was beaten by fall  again.

  After losing in the first place match Bellevue's Zach Roeder had to wrestle-back   to determine the second place qualifier . He came away with and 8-5 decision  to qualify for the state meet in Des Moines. Just the first place & second place qualifiers   advance on to state.

 Bellevue Wrestling Team competed in the River Valley Conference Tournament hosted by North Cedar High School.  Eight wrestler's scored team points for the Comets led  by Zach Roeder's 2nd place finish at 120 lbs.  As a team they finished ninth in the 13-team field with 89-team points
