Several from the Bellevue boys soccer team were named All-Conference for the 2023 season in the River Valley Conference. Including in the accolades were Ben Meyer (First Team), Spencer Abbott (Seond Team) and Aden Schmidt (Honorable Mention).

Casey Tath, Kaden Guenther, Gabe Manders and Riley Carrier ran the Bellevue Comets to the best finish for the school at the 2023 State Track Meet last weekend in Des Moines. The group came away with a third-place effort in the final Class 1A 4x400 in a time of  3:24.81.

Marquette placed third to qualify for the District Meet on Tuesday at Brown Deer Golf Course. Scores included Cameron Templeton 83, Spencer Roeder 104, Evan Scott 93, Trevor Klein 109, Charlie Lane 165 and Jaylen Theisen 157. Team score was 389.

The Bellevue Braves opened their season on Friday, May 12 with a night game against Balltown in the first round of the Holy Cross Baseball Tournament.  Balltown defeated them by a 2-1 score in a classic pitcher's duel between the Brave's ace Chase Kueter and Balltown's Charlie Morton.

The Marquette Catholic girls came away with a huge soccer victory over Northeast at Felderman Park last week. The final score was Marquette Catholic 9; Northeast 1.

The annual IERA Hare Scramble will be held on Saturday, April 29 and the Hard Scramble on Sunday, April 30.  The race weekend double-header will be held north of Spragueville at 41324 82nd Street. Registration is at 7 a.m. both days, and gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 28.

On Tuesday, March 28  the Comet boys golf team faced Anamosa at the Bellevue Golf Club. The meet was scheduled to be a triangular to include Marquette, however due to soccer and track conflicts it became a two-team match.

On Thursday, March 30 the Comet track team traveled to Northeast to compete in the Healy-Mattis Invitational Meet. The Comets finished an impressive 2nd overall with the host Northeast Rebels claiming 1st Place. West Branch took home 3rd Place in the eleven team field.

For the first time in the history of Clarke University Athletics, a National Championship was won as the Pride women's basketball team earned the NAIA Championship with a 63-52 win over Thomas More University on March 24.

The players of this Bellevue 6th Grade Basketball Team have been working together during the past six years, since they were 6 years old.  This year’s season started on October 17, 2022, with a few practices prior to their first basketball tournament which was held on October 29 in Bellevue.  

On March 4th and 5th, the National Archery in the Schools Program held their annual state tournament in Des Moines, Ia at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Archers and teams compete throughout the season that runs from December through February with hopes of moving onto this tournament. To advance…

Mason Fox represented Bellevue at the Iowa AAU State Tournament in Des Moines on  Feb 25. Fox qualified at 260 pounds and made it to the ‘blood round’ which is the round of top 12 wrestlers in the state.

Last Saturday night February 25, the Marquette Catholic boys traveled to Solon to face the New London Tigers.  On the line was the right to compete in the Class 1A State Championships in Des Moines. An absolutely packed house in Solon saw Marquette lose a heartbreaker 70-69 in overtime.

The Bellevue Comet wrestling team closed out their season in a historic fashion with Jack Hiland representing the blue and white in a truly historic manner. Jack capped off his junior campaign with an incredible 6-2 record at the state tournament where he finished 5th in Class 1A.
