Marquette’s Allison Kettmann ran the best time of her high school career by more than a second in the 400m hurdles (1:06.98) to finish in 4th at the 2022 State Track meet last weekend at Drake University in Des Moines.

The Bellevue Comet baseball team dropped a pair of games to Cal-Wheatland last Tuesday, 12-1 and 10–3.

Both Bellevue and Marquette Schools are sending a wide array of individuals and events to the 2022 Iowa State Track Tournament this week after district competition was completed this past weekend.

The Bellevue Comets advanced to play for Sub State 4 final after defeating Springville Tuesday night, 73-68.  The Comets will play Gladbrook-Reinbeck Saturday at 7:00 pm at Clear Creek-Amana High School.  The boys are playing for the school's first state tournament appearance since 1991.

The Bellevue Archery Club hosted the first annual Gary Purtilo Memorial Tournament on Saturday, February 12. Some tears were shed and a lot of smiles were found as memories were shared between families, archers and coaches about Gary Purtilo, who passed away in 2021.

The forecast did not look the best for a tournament on Saturday, January 15, but Mother Nature was looking out for Bellevue Archery and the team ended up having a successful day with 65 archers who participated in the Lancer Tournament hosted by North Scott in Elderidge.

The Bellevue Archery Club traveled to Anamosa on Saturday, January 8 with 55 archers to take place in the bullseye and 3D tournaments. There were 21 schools that participated in bullseye at their middle school so the competition was fierce.
