The Bellevue Comet Volleyball Team is now 17-5 after defeating Marquette 2-0 last Saturday at the annual Marquette Tournament. Last Thursday, the Lady Comets were also victorious against Maquoketa and the week prior defeated Anamosa 3-0 as well.

The Bellevue Comets couldn’t quite seem to get into gear on the gridiron  at home last Friday, losing their second contest of the 2022 season to a high-scoring North Linn squad, 13-48.

In a Tri-Rivers cross divisional matchup, the Marquette varsity squad took on the Lynx of North Linn last Thursday. An experienced Lynx squad rushed out to an 11-1 lead on the young Marquette team.

The Bellevue boys cross country team, with a deep returning squad, took the Bellevue Twilight Run title easily, with Maquoketa finishing second in the team race. The Comets finished with four runners in the top five finishers.

Marquette played its home contest of the season against Tri-Rivers West opponent, the Starmont Stars. Backed by a raucous construction-themed crowd, the home team found themselves with a quick 4-0 lead behind a couple aces from Senior Elise Kilburg. Starmont tied the set 1 at 8 after a 4 point run.
