The Red Basket Project

At this time of year there are many non-profits and programs in Jackson County that offer great giving opportunities.  The people of Jackson County are a generous lot and support these many programs with gifts of time, money and items.

I will remind the citizen’s of The Red Basket Program of Jackson County.  This program has existed for two years and continues to fulfill a real need of feminine hygiene products for low-income and homeless girls and women in Jackson County.  Each month a team of dedicated volunteers assemble Period Packs and boxes full of hygiene products to distribute to each school in Jackson County as well as food pantries, Operation New View, Community Services, Safe Pathways and Women’s Health. Red Basket relies on donations of product and monies to purchase products for distribution.

Please consider The Red Basket of Jackson County. All donations are 100 percent used to fulfill product needs to this much needed outreach.  Product donations can be dropped off at Moore’s Family Farms and Operation New View both in Maquoketa. Red Basket also has a Facebook presence and can be contacted to arrange to pick up product donations. Cash donations can be sent to The Community Foundation of Jackson County, P.O. Box 645, Maquoketa, Iowa 5203.

Thank you,
