Letter to Editor

On behalf of the wonderful people of Bellevue, we wanted to say thank you and let you know where the money went that was collected at Vacation Bible School.  During Vacation Bible School this summer the pastors presented the idea of helping the Marshalltown tornado victims and the VBS leaders agreed.

The children brought their special offering every night and put it in the treasure chest, this year’s theme was ‘Ship Wrecked-Jesus Rescues!’  To that, a couple other special offerings were taken to contribute to this worthy cause and the total collected was $820. What a wonderful and amazing community we have.

Working together we are doing great things for our neighbors in need.  Below is a letter we received from MICA-Mid-Iowa Community Action, Inc. acknowledging the donation made.

Thank you Bellevue

Dear Bellevue Churches

Thank you for your 10/9/18 donation of $820 to the Marshalltown Tornado Relief Fund!  As you know, many of our friends and neighbors are in great need.

100 percent of the funds MICA receives will be used to help individuals and families recover from uninsured losses sustained in this terrible disaster.  Thank you again for your generosity and community spirit.

Sincerely,

Arlene McAtee
