Scott Thielen, formerly Bellevue, IA passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his home in Philipsburg, PA where he has lived for many years. A wake will be at 9:00 a.m., funeral services at 11:00 am, Sat. May 4th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 302 S. Third St., Bellevue, IA.
He was born July 6th, 1961 in Bellevue, son of Freddie and Janice (Knapp) Thielen of Bellevue. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1979 and graduated from Iowa State University, Ames. He owned and operated a bakery in Philipsburg, PA when it burnt down he operated out of his home. He was very active in his church and AA and sponsored a recovery of AA through the church.
Surviving are his father, Freddie (Marg) Thielen of Bellevue, IA, two sisters, Amy Thielen of Dubuque, IA, Jane Thielen of Sherman, CT, on sister-in-law, Michelle Thielen of Belleuve, IA, one brother, Alan Thielen of Bellevue, four step-sisters, Deb (Ron) Hagerty of Epworth, IA, Melody (Ed) Osburne of Urbandale, IA, Beckie (Jim) Ohnesorge of Dubuque, IA, Darla (Chris Cupps) Bruns of Camden, TN, 1 step-brother, Rob (Kim) Ohnesorge of New Johnsonville, TN, 1 step-sister-in-law, Nancy Ohnesorge of St. Jo, MO. Several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles as well.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice of Dubuque, brother Eric Thielen, grandparents, Fred & Verna Thielen of Bellevue and grandmother, Hazel Knapp of Sabula, IA, grandfather, Marvin Knapp of Tupelo, MO, 1 step-brother, William “Chuck” Ohnesorge of St. Jo, MO.
