Drew Mangler

Drew Mangler and his attorney Derek Jones listen as the jury is polled. They were unanimous in convicting Mangler of second-degree murder in the death of Jim Remakel of Bellevue.

The jury has found Drew Mangler guilty of second-degree murder.

Mangler was initially charged with first-degree murder in the death of James Remakel of Bellevue in December, 2016.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 22 at 10 a.m. Mangler could face up to 50 years in prison.

For a conviction of first-degree murder, the prosecution would have had to prove that Remakel was killed "willfully, deliberately and with premeditation" or while committing a forcible felony.

The jury went into deliberations shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday and returned their verdict about 24 hours later.
