It’s going to be a busy Memorial Day weekend in Bellevue. Two graduation ceremonies at both local high schools on Saturday and Sunday, a Memorial Day Service by the Bellevue American Legion on Front Street Monday morning, with the Centennial Celebration of the Bellevue American Legion to follow.

The Iowa Freedom of Information Council has joined the the Bellevue Herald-Leader and Maquoketa Sentinel-Press in efforts to obtain additional information about a police call involving a Jackson County prosecutor.

St. Joseph's Church in Bellevue will be hosting its monthly euchre card party beginning on Sunday, May 19.  Lunch will be served first at 6 p.m. with cards to follow at 6:30 p.m.  Cost is $3 and includes lunch and prizes. All are welcome.

Hundreds of young students witnessed a horrific multiple vehicle accident at Bellevue High School last Friday when several young prom goers were seriously injured.

The Iowa Mississippi River Parkway Commision, which oversees the Great River Road, conducted its quarterly meeting in Bellevue a week ago Monday.

The Jackson County Area Tourism Association (JCATA) has announced the appointment of Tom Devine as the Executive Director of the Group.  The JCATA is a non-profit organization charged with the promotion and advancement of tourism in Jackson County, Iowa.

Jody and Laurie Hueneke Martens of Bellevue are the proud parents of a baby girl, Mckayla Grace Martens, born on December 21, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, IA.
