A head-on collision took place Friday morning north of Bellevue near the intersection of 308th Street and Highway 52 at approximately 8:30 a.m. One of the drivers was transported for treatment by the University of Iowa AirCare Team. According to the Iowa State Patrol accident report, a 59-year-old Sterling, Ill., man was driving southbound on U.S. 52 at 8:26 a.m. Friday. His vehicle collided head-on with another driven by a 17-year-old Dubuque boy at the intersection with 308th Street. The 17-year-old was transported from the scene by Bellevue Ambulance. The 59-year-old was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. No names were released by authorities. The crash is under investigation.
