We are in need of a person to drive Medical patients to Dubuque or Maquoketa on days that work for you, the driver. The patient calls you and sets up a ride. You may get called 1 or two times per week and sometimes per month. The RTA will pay you for your mileage. Please call Karen at 872-4666 if you have any interest in volunteering for this adventure. You will benefit by getting to know some new people not necessarily in your circle of friends now but they will become your family once you meet and give them a ride.
In the month of September we have some speakers coming into the Meal Site. On Sept. 12 we are having Birthday Day and also Jennifer Meyer from Hurstville Interpretive Center coming in to talk about “The American Bison” She will talk after we eat our meal at noon
Jessica King from Home Instead will be here on Monday, Sept. 17 to discuss the age old tale of “Fraud Protection”. It actually happened recently here in Bellevue and because the women’s care giver was there she was protected.
On Sept. 21, Andrea from Above and Beyond will be here with “Sit & Get Fit” exercises at 11 am. You do not have to get sore from exercising and it helps with our mobility.
On Tuesday, Sept. 18 we have our Monthly Fresh Conversations class and we will be discussing “Ancient Grains make a Comeback”. This half hour class starts at 11 am till we eat lunch.
On Friday, Sept. 28 we have our morning Care Giver class at 10 am. If you are a care giver for your Mom, Dad, Spouse, Child or a friend, come in and join us to talk about the challenges we all have and how to deal with them. Sally Davies from Clover Ridge is here to monitor our discussions and give us help with our duties.
If you are interested in any or all the above things going on out here, just call and let me know you would like to join us. Karen Osar 563-872-4666 from 9:30 am-12:30 pm.
