Mill Valley New Healthcare Professionals Sept 2018

Congratulations to the new Healthcare Professionals in receiving their Certificate of Completion of their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class at Mill Valley Care Center and Sunrise Villa Assisted Living.  Shown left to right seated, (front row) Lennice M. Thanks to Ray & Doris Theisen for providing musical entertainment with the tenants at SVAL and the residents at MVCC during the noontime on Friday.  Thanks to volunteer Sandra Hayward for engaging and dancing with some of the residents and tenants during the music on Friday.

Thanks to volunteer Sandra Hayward for hosting “Garage Sale” was held with the residents and tenants during the afternoon on Friday.

Thanks to volunteer Janis Kilburg for leading the Rosary prayers for the Catholics on Sunday.

Coffee & Conversation with the tenants were held during the morning on Sunday.

Movie & Popcorn were enjoyed by the tenants at the Villa during the afternoon on Sunday.

Thanks to the Mennonite volunteers for their visit and singing in the Front Dining area during the evening on Sunday.  Thanks always to volunteers Benita D. and Sandra Hayward for being the host and assisting this event.

We send our deepest Sympathy to the family and friends of Wayne Scheckel who passed away.  He will be greatly missed!

Thanks to volunteer Father Dennis Miller (Pastor at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bellevue, IA) and volunteers:  Ron Koos, Dula Tebbe, Laura Steines, Kenny Kilburg, Lloyd Kilburg, Maryetta & Larry Lampe, Marilyn & Merle Kilburg, Alice Kilburg, and Dale Banowetz for assisting the residents/tenants and hosting the Catholic Rosary, Mass, and Communion Service during the morning on Wednesday.

Thanks to volunteers Jason & Carrie Rowan for sharing a very obedient and friendly female dog named Ally with the residents/tenants during the afternoon on Wednesday.  (Ally is the “Therapy Dog” from Carson’s Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.  Jason Rowan is an ABC certified dog trainer with K-9 Comfort in Bellevue, Iowa).  Thanks again, Jason & Carrie.

Special thanks to volunteers Dave Eischeid and Karen Dunne for hosting “Artwork with Dave and Karen” during the morning on Thursday and helping our resident/tenant students unlock their art talents.  Thanks again to Dave and Karen for sharing their talents, instruction, and quality time with us.  Thanks also to the Bellevue Arts Council for sponsoring this Painting Class.

Thanks to volunteers Karen Osar with volunteers from the Bellevue Senior Center for hosting an “Inter-generational Euchre Card Games” with the tenants at the Villa during the afternoon on Thursday.  Thanks again, for providing some “great times” and “memorable fun”.  Thanks to Ealana Roling (Dietary Supervisor) and staff for providing snacks for the tenants and volunteers during the afternoon on Thursday.
