Don and Laurel Gruhn, Hauntown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past weekend with children and grandchildren. Don and Laurel were married September 14, 1968, at the Miles Presbyterian Church.
After college, Laurel taught high school English in Potosi, Wisconsin, and Don worked for the State of Wisconsin Employment Office in Lancaster, Wisconsin. The rest of their lives have been spent on Elk River in rural Clinton. Laurel taught at the East Central Middle School, Sabula, and Don worked as a financial advisor for Thrivent Financial.
Their children are Amy Farnum of Dubuque, Christian Gruhn, Clinton, and Andrea Miller, Galena, Illinois. They have 8 grandchildren.
