On the heels of a somewhat contentious local school election, one Bellevue CEO has become unintentionally involved in a somewhat contentious election for Iowa Governor.

Don and Laurel Gruhn, Hauntown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past weekend with children and grandchildren.  Don and Laurel were married September 14, 1968, at the Miles Presbyterian Church.

Jackson County law enforcement agencies  will target underage drinking during a special traffic enforcement effort on Friday, September 28. A safety check point will be conducted west of Preston on Highway 64 at mile marker 49 from 8 to 10 p.m.
